My status
My main job is designing publications and signage for
Libraries & Archives. I have Wednesday's off when I can work
on freelance commissions, such as ambigrams, logos and
personal stationery like party invitations. I have a wait
list for ambigram commissions, located on my facebook page
and in the sidebar of my blog.
Follow me on twitter or become a fan on facebook for
ambigram status updates.
Follow me on stumbleupon or twitter for design links.
If you would like a design or advice on one of your own designs please feel free to contact me.
My design priorities
When I design my priorities are to make sure everything is easy to read with good contrast.
I try to take into account those who have dyslexia, may be
colourblind or have other visual difficulties.
I have a tendency to avoid the latest design trends. They come and go anyway and don't make for a lasting design.
A hint of my inspiration
Salvador Dali and M C Escher are two artists that have always fascinated me. Dali for the dreamlike landscapes, which often contain more than one image. Escher for his
mathematical tessellation and mobius strip imagery.
I've studied astrology to the point of rising signs and
feel it's a good personality profiling tool. Numerology is
interesting too, but my maths often needs checking.
I do my families genealogy and find the history and
meaning of names fascinating.
