Sometimes the solution for an ambigram just jumps out
at you.

The r caused a bit of a problem.

This ambigram was very difficult, with one name
shorter than the other and some difficult letter
combinations. I think the combination looks best when
they are put together as it makes the A and d less
prominent when rotated. The person I created it for was
after a design that said wow to him and was going to
have it as a tattoo. They are his sons names.

Easy apart from the D/N.

This was pretty easy. just pick a style that looks
balanced. For a friend of a friend who is going to use
as a logo for her handmade jewellery. She is going to
trace it onto black card with a silver pen. It is really
good for her as her name is Emma and her surname begins
with M.

Pretty much anyone can do this one just pick a script
style where the m looks the same both way and then flip
first two letters to make the second two.

My first and last
attempt in gothic style. I really don't like working in
this style of font, it's very hard to
read.

This one was
particularly difficult to make
readable.

Created for a relative's 80th birthday card. fairly easy, just needed a good typeface. No
embellishments at all, just used the J as an E and the O looks ok both ways round.

A challenge from a Facebook ambigram group wall post, who was told it couldn't be done. I have to admit the I and k are quite
a problem.

This really suits my friend as she is a very strong character. Green is her favourite

Meaning = Lauren is a French girl name meaning "crowned

plant."

A commission. The U and G were quite
difficult, but I'm really happy with the final
result, I think it's very
clear.

This was a fairly simple solution in
the end. The M makes ue and the Q makes the o. Then join
the ns together and add a dot for the i. My client said
"I love it!! Thank you sooo much!!
It’s awesome! :D"

This represents a move on in my ability, where I've gone from straight conversions of the letters to more complicated two to one letter combinations. Previous ambigrams with this combination were found by accident.

I was unable to find a nice meaning for Moochie, which is a pet name a term of endearment. General meaning is beggar. |

A commission. She is planning as using it for a logo,

This looked easy, but I really had trouble finding a
solution for the P/R combination.
Worked on this one on and off from 2005

I would try my own name first.

Ryann/Rhenn
My first intentional perceptual shift ambigram. I
thought this would be ideal as you only have to work on
two letters, rather than quite hard r/n combination.
June 2010 |
I couldn't find a meaning for Rhenn. |

My first commission tattooed on her foot. My customer said
"Wow – words fail me, that is exactly what I was
looking for. Absolutely stunning!"

I am really pleased with the way this

ZoeDidn't really need to do much to this, just find a typeface with a crossed Z that also looked like an E.
